For spring break, my mother and I are road tripping to Eureka, California. It will be a 4-day adventure and I will hopefully not go crazy. We started our trip at 9:37 AM on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008. We rented a Toyota Solara Convertible and began our long trek down I-5 (for those who don’t live on the west coast that is THE major highway, going from WA all the way down to the end of CA). Approximately, 3 hours later, at 12:17 PM, we passed into Oregon. Since we were in a convertible, we put the top down at a rest stop at about 1:07 PM. It was freaken cold. I do not get cold very easily and I was shivering, so we put it back down shortly thereafter. Finally, 5 hours later, at 5:25, we arrived in California but we still had 4 hours until we would get to our hotel. We stopped a couple times to look at the view and at approximately 7:30 PM watched a beautiful, breathtaking sunset on the beach. At 8:25 PM we drove into Eureka, CA and ate at a quaint diner named Kristina’s. At 9:20 PM my worn out mother and I trudged into our hotel and instantly looked for………an internet connection. Well, I foresee us both not getting much sleep.
For some fun, I am counting the number of different lisensce plates I see from different states. The list so far: Arizona, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, California, Tennessee, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Utah. That is 9 out of 50 states.
